Rebecca Schlappich Charles

Hi! My name is Rebecca and I would love to be a part of your child’s musical education. Let me tell you a bit about myself!

I have been a violinist my whole life (I started studying the Suzuki method when I was three!) and I have been passionate about music education for almost as long. I accepted my first student when I was fourteen years old, kicking off my lifetime love of teaching.

I pursued my own musical education, earning my degree in Music Performance from Manhattan School of Music, and I have been fortunate to be able to travel and tour the world through performance and outreach. I am a Grammy Award nominated recording artist, and while my studies concentrated on classical performance, I am proud to be a life long student of many genres of music, professionally performing mariachi, rock, pop, country, and even punk! I’m happy to share more of my performance experience with you, or you can check out my other website, RebeccaSchlappich.com.

But let’s talk education! Throughout my life, starting at 14 years old, I have always maintained a studio of private students. My studio has had a few different names, including RISE, RIME, and now Little Lake Music Academy, but my commitment to my student’s musical development has always remained the same. I have a passion for applying the tenets of the Suzuki Method to my teaching, while always curating my teaching methods to the needs of each individual student.

I have also taught for other educational organizations, including Manhattan School of Music’s summer program, Play On Philly, Headstart Daycare, Foothills Music Academy, and Little Cherubs Preschool, where I designed and implemented classroom violin lessons for their students.

In addition to my musical education endeavors in my own studio, I have also been honored to apply my teaching expertise to my participation in Cultures in Harmony, an outreach organization which forges connections across cultural and national barriers through the medium of music.  I have had the pleasure of teaching and performing in Cameroon, The Philippines, and Egypt.

I am excited to grow my studio here in the Menifee area, and not only introduce your child to the joy of making music, but also provide a space to build friendships based in a common love of music and sound.  I can’t wait to meet you and your child!
